North Korean Soldiers standing guard
According to reports by NY Daily News, two are dead and 13 are left wounded after North Korea's 100 round shelling upon the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong.
Yeonpyeong is home to over 1600 and military garrisons according to the Yonhap News Agency and South Korea had no choice but to fire over 80 artillery rounds back over the boarder at North Korea, an exchange that lasted over an hour, as reported by CNN correspondents.
"I was at home when I was surprised by the sounds of bomb explosions," a 35-year-old resident told the Korean news agency. "As I stepped out of my home, I saw the entire village had already turned into a sea of fire."
